(Grant Medical College, Bombay) 1 propose to place before you an account of a g\v of rny observations and those of others on e subject with a view to discussing the problem cirrhosis of the liver and making out a case ?T^anne<^ investigation. -Lhe subject of cirrhosis has been one of the j?rominent topics taken up by research workers or at least over a century. Work in India has ve<rn comparatively recent, but it has been very uable. Much work is in progress in connec,l0n with infantile cirrhosis. Work on the adult ^pe of cirrhosis also is in progress in India a.n(;i outside India. This note is pointedly on clrrhosis in the adult. No reference to clinical experimental work on infantile cirrhosis will made considering that as a distinct entity.
